Wishlist Rewards: Earn Loyalty Points for Wishlist Saves With Smile, Swym, and Klaviyo

A handwritten wishlist on a wooden table beneath the headline “Wishlist Rewards: Earn Loyalty Points for Wishlist Saves,” in a textured editorial collage with yellow and purple accents.

In Short

Shoppers can now earn Smile points the moment they save or share a wishlist item, using two ready-made Shopify Flow templates. No custom development required.
Shoppers who use Smile rewards have a 56% higher repeat purchase rate than those who don't. Wishlist rewards give members one more way to earn between purchases.
Each save or share also reaches Klaviyo, alongside Swym's existing flows like Wishlist Reminder and Price Drop, which keep working as they do today.
Both templates are live in the Shopify Flow library and can be installed today.

Think about how a shopper actually decides on a $300 jacket. They find it, save it, come back to look at it a few times, maybe send it to a friend for a second opinion. Days or weeks later, they buy. In most loyalty programs, only the purchase at the end earns points.

Swym's Wishlist Plus and Smile now connect through Shopify Flow, so the save can earn points too. A shopper adds the jacket to their wishlist and gets 50 points for it. Your loyalty program recognizes them days or weeks before checkout, and you learn exactly what they want next.

What are wishlist rewards?

Wishlist rewards are loyalty points a shopper earns for saving or sharing products on your store's wishlist. A loyalty program usually rewards what a customer has already done, like a purchase or a referral. A wishlist captures something earlier: what they want but haven't bought yet. Rewarding it turns a passive feature into an active part of your program.

Why does a wishlist save deserve a reward?

Shoppers who use Smile rewards have a 56% higher repeat purchase rate than those who don't. The more often members have a reason to engage with your program, the more often they have a reason to come back. Purchase-only earning leaves long gaps between those moments. Wishlist rewards fill them with a low-effort action shoppers are already taking.

The data gets better too. A points balance shows how engaged a member is. A wishlist shows what they're close to buying. A member who earns points and saves items is telling you both at once, which gives your retention team a far more specific starting point than a store-wide promo.

The two Shopify Flow templates that make it work

Both are ready-made templates in the Shopify Flow library.

TEMPLATE 01

Award points on a wishlist add

When a shopper saves an item, Smile credits points to their account, the same way it does for purchases and referrals.

TEMPLATE 02

Award points on a wishlist share

Sharing a wishlist usually earns nothing in a loyalty program. This template puts a value on it, giving shoppers a reason to send their list to friends and family.

Once wishlist activity earns points, Klaviyo sees it too. Each save or share shows up on the shopper's profile, next to the loyalty data Smile already syncs through the Smile and Klaviyo integration. Your lifecycle team can segment on wishlist intent and loyalty status in one place.

How can retention teams use wishlist rewards?

Build an intent-based VIP segment. Create a segment of members in your top VIP tier who have saved an item recently. Give that group early access to the items they saved before you discount them for everyone else. It's a more personal perk than a code, and it gets products in front of the customers most likely to buy at full price.

Run winbacks that lead with points, not a coupon. A lapsed customer who saved an item weeks ago gets an email that names the item and shows how close they are to their next reward. They get an incentive they've already earned instead of a generic percent-off, and you protect margin.

Reward the share. Wishlist Shared already exists as a Swym-triggered Klaviyo event. Adding points gives the sharer an immediate reason to send their list, and every shared wishlist brings a new visitor to your store with a specific product in mind. Around the holidays, when shoppers are sending gift hints, that adds up.

None of this needs a custom integration. Smile and Swym already run on the same Shopify store, and the Flow templates connect them.

What's available today

Two Shopify Flow templates. Award Smile points when a shopper saves an item or shares a wishlist. No custom development required.

Your existing Klaviyo flows, unchanged. Wishlist Reminder, Price Drop, and Swym's other Klaviyo-triggered flows keep working exactly as they do today. The new templates add a loyalty signal alongside them.
